The 26 Club: An Exclusive Community
The 26 Club (T26C) is an exclusive, invite-only community focused on increasing physical activity. Its name is inspired by the statistic that only 26% of young people get the recommended daily amount of physical activity, and the club aims to change this by making physical education an engaging part of K-12 students’ lives. Membership is limited to 26 like-minded individuals who believe in the positive impact of sports and the importance of movement-based activities. New members can only join through an invitation from an existing member. An annual membership fee of $5,000 supports the “TRY Sport” initiative and efforts to supercharge physical activity. As of late 2024, The 26 Club had 16 members.
Member Benefits and Impact
Members of The 26 Club are invited to high-level professional sporting events and outdoor activities, gaining access to players, coaches, and professional environments typically unavailable to the public. Past trips include attending a USA vs. Canada rugby game in Los Angeles, where members met the USA Rugby National Team Head Coach and a national team player. Another trip to Edinburgh involved dinner with two Scottish international players and attending the Captain’s Run at Murrayfield Stadium, with a private catered suite where the rest of the team and coaching staff were met. The next planned event is Ireland vs. New Zealand in Chicago during the first weekend of November. Beyond these exclusive experiences, The 26 Club supports the Montana Institute of Sport (MIS), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to improving physical education in Montana’s public schools.
